The St Michael’s School Lane Cove Association is the organisation responsible for running extra-curricular sporting activities for St Michael’s students as clubs of the association. We encourage all St Michael’s students and their parents to become involved with the clubs to enjoy the strong sense of community spirit that exists at St Michael’s.
The clubs currently operated by the Association are:
- Basketball (SMBC)
- Netball (SMNC)
- Football (SMFC)
Each club is run by a group of parent members responsible for the day-to-day operations.
The Association Executive Committee is the governing body to which the clubs report. It is responsible for setting policy and governance standards and ensuring that the Association (including all clubs) operate in an open and transparent manner.
Objective
The objectives for which the Association is established are to encourage, promote and administer the external sporting and cultural activities of the School, on behalf of the students, parents, carers, staff and school community in the first instance and otherwise, the local community in general. The students of the School will be given priority in all Association activities including selection for sporting Clubs/teams.
Not For Profit
The Association is an incorporated association in NSW and is deemed to be a non-profit organisation. It is run in it’s entirety by parent volunteers with children attending St Michael’s Primary School Lane Cove. If you are interested in being involved please get in touch.
Code of Conduct
For the safety and enjoyment of all participants across our clubs a Code of Conduct has been established to cover players, parents, coaches, volunteers, umpires & referees, and spectators. The code of conduct should be adhered to by anyone who is involved with the clubs in any capacity.
Additionally a Discipline Policy has been created which is designed to complement the Association’s Code of Conduct to address any misconduct and dissuade poor conduct before it occurs.
Child Safety
All children and young people who participate with our clubs have a right to feel and be safe. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all children and young people. We are committed to providing a child-safe and child-friendly environment, where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and are able to actively participate in sports without fear of abuse.
