About SMBC
St Michael’s Basketball Club aims to give children fun times, confidence, teamwork and a sense of community through playing and learning the game. The club is run by parents for the children, offers equal opportunity for all, and encourages sportsmanship and positive attitudes.
We play in the Northern Suburbs Basketball Association (Norths) Miniball competition against other local clubs and schools. Inclusive of St Michael’s students and, where possible, non–St Michael’s players.
Programs & formats
Three seasons across the year. Games mostly Saturday (some Friday nights), venues across the lower North Shore.
Kindy & U8
3×3 half-court
Modified game, lower rings, coach-led officiating. Perfect first step into competitive basketball.
U10
Full court · lower ring
5v5 format with a reduced height ring as players build skills and game sense.
U12 & U13
Full court · full height
Standard 5v5. Top U12/U13 teams play grand finals; all teams play on finals day.

PlayHQ registration
All players register online. Coaches and managers must register as Team Manager (valid WWCC required) so they are not charged a player fee.
